... Dan Daily... An Ode To A True Joke Master ...

In Memory of

A True Joke Master; Ed Hexter

There was this guy, just divorced from a very long term marriage; he was a total basket case.  He went online, got on a joke list, and his life changed forever.  He was taught how to laugh again.  He never thought he'd ever even chuckle, let alone, really laugh again:   Well, this other guy had this joke list; and not only taught him how to laugh, but teary eye belly laughs.  Not giggles:  Pee your pants laughs.  He inspired this guy; so this guy started his own joke list, and Danny's Daily's was born.

Yes; that guy is me, and that inspiration was Ed Hexter.  We all have inspirations in our lives.  (mentors)  Most times; we don't even realize it.  That's how Ed was to me.  We mostly talked shop, layouts and things of that nature.  But I've come to realize how these strangers on the Internet really do touch you.  Ed had the best joke list on the net.  He had a great sense of humor, and was consistent.  Nothing fancy, just a black and white Mime format Internet joke list, but he was funny, always funny...  Danny's Daily's  might never have come to be, if it weren't for Ed.

It's strange; since the beginning of time, we've all wondered "why am I here, what am I to do."   Some never answer these questions, others find the answers; and fight not to fulfill them.  Ed was comfortable with his calling.  What better way to live your life; making others smile and laugh, not for money, but because you care, you love.

Through all this time, he was suffering with Diabetes, and Cancer.  Hell, we didn't even know it; all he wanted to do; was make your day.  Ed?  Of all the callings that God has for his children, yours was the noblest.  Thank You for following your calling.  I took Danny's Daily's to the web Ed.  Gosh, how I wish you were here to see it...

I Really Miss you Ed, It's Just Not the Same...

May you laugh for eternity:  May your soul find the peace that only Nature and God could ever give:

The Joke Masters Prayer

Before I Go

When my life has reached its end,
and I take my final breath;
I want to know I've left behind,
Some "good" before my death.

I hope that in my final hour,
I can truly say:
That in my lifetime,
I've brightened someone's day.

That I have brought a great big smile,
to someone else's face;
and a moment became sweeter,
as they dwelled here in this place.

Lord, please be my reminder,
whisper softly in my ear:
To be a "giver," not a "taker,"
In the time that I have left here.

Give me the strength I need,
the will to give; open my soul:
That I might show compassion,
and true human love before I go.

A known heart not touched by me,
with no smiles left behind ...
Means the life that I've been given,
will have been a waste of time.

With all my heart, I truly hope
that all the folks I've known on earth...
Were touched for a while, I made them smile
And gave to my little life ... worth.

An Ode to a true Joke Master, and I miss him....

Ed, you are in the book...

Remember;

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have

Everlaughing Life."

How do you mend a broken heart......

Thanks Dogbyte for letting me know about Ed!!!  I hate it when people just disappear off the net, there are real people behind these keyboards, thanks for remembering that ...
