Good Evening All! Why Danny's Daily's has Missed another Issue:
Trouble;.. in Spades! Something Really Bad Has Happened Gang: As you know, I upgraded my system here at home and it didn't go well. Wasting days of trying to fix it came up empty, so I decided to do another complete wipe. That hasn't helped either. For some reason the computer is making calls to the ROM drives when it should be making them to the hard drive. This trips the trays to open and close by themselves. While more an annoyance then anything else, Mariah sits in a server case with a front door. The crash I hear, can't be good for the drives. I have made this problem manageable. ANYWAY Last Friday night, disaster struck my family business. As many of you know, my family is in the construction business. Part of that business involves owning and building a small industrial park called the "Price Centre." "The Price Centre" houses many businesses: Buildings "A" and "B" are joined together. It's custom tailored for Gypsum Services Niagara. They use the back building for their drywall storage and part of the front building for their office and store. 90 percent of "Building A" houses the regional Taco Bell main offices. Recently, Gypsum Services took delivery of a new boom truck for the multi-story delivery of their wall board. These trucks run about 1/4 of a million dollars.

We got the call around 4 am Saturday morning. The Back building did extend all the way over, flush with the front building.
This used to be "Price A." The fire started in the back building. (Price "B.")
This was a 3 alarm fire. The last fire company is pictured here. They were at the site until around 1 pm Saturday because the fire kept flaming back up. The Town sent a huge shovel truck to peal the buildings skins away and The highway department sent salt trucks in to keep the parking lot thawed. It was about 7 degrees out.
That used to be "Price B." It extended all the way over to the gate you can see past the Firefighters. The two thin poles you see? Those were gas pumps we removed last month.
The office building was only about 6 years old. Our "flagship" building. The Firefighters cut through the overhead door on the far side of "B" and were able to drive another boom truck and forklift truck out to safety. I gotta tell ya gang, these guys really have guts...
By the grace of God, this happened in the middle of the night and NO one was hurt. My Dad's partner, Bob, did all the original site work and had the excellent foresight to include spacious grounds between the buildings. They sit on a small lake. This allowed for no other buildings to be in danger. Needless to say, both buildings and contents are totaled. Losses are expected to reach between 2 and 3 million dollars. Yes, we are insured... Luckily, we have a brand new building not yet christened. Hopefully, we can set up Taco there. Gypsum Niagara is using a back building for their board that was housing our stuff.
You know? Sometimes life sure can be a bitch... I'll try very hard to have an issue out for Friday. Don't count on it though, this computer's build is only half done. I don't even have sound yet. I hope this page turned out good; I kind of threw it together in the dark, so to speak. I've been busy...
